Umm Al Quwain Center Of Antiquities
The oldest pearl in the history of human kind which goes back to the Neolithic age some 7,500 years old was found in Umm alquwain . It goes back to 5500 BC after it was tested by Carbon 14.The peael is the oldest known in the Arabian Peninsula and across the world.
The first Hall: This hall includes artifacts discovered in the three archaeological sites dated from the Neolithic until the Iroan Age, and these sites are in chronological order :
1. UAQ.2 Site :The site of “Umm AL Qwain 2” is located On the road to link the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah , 7500 years ago and during one and a half millennium .
2. Akab Site:This island lies in Umm Al Qwain, it referred back to the Fifth – Fourth millennium BC . The site was interpreted as a butchering area for dugongs, and therefore suggested to be the oldest known site of dugong hunting. More than 884 objects other than flakes of flint or shell, referred back to Obied era have been recovered at Akab settlement.
3. Tell Abraq Site :This site lies between Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain, it is one of the most important archaeological sites in the UAE. It refers to the third millennium BC Umm Al Nar period in Abu Dhabi. Second Hall: This hall includes artifacts discovered at only one site which is one of the largest archaeological sites in the United Arab Emirates, and this site is:
4. Ed-Dour Site :Ed-Dour Site is one of the of the largest archaeological sites in the United Arab Emirates, overlooks Al Beidha Lake , it is naturally surrounded by a series of high sand dunes .
